Railroad Day On Capitol Hill is June 4
The League of Railway Industry Women (LRIW) is encouraging all of its members to attend Railroad Day on Capitol Hill 2015 on Thursday, June 4th in Washington, DC. This annual event allows the rail industry to tell Congress its view in a unified voice. LRIW will also host a networking event on the evening of June 3rd. More details are to follow.
Railroad Day on Capitol Hill is open to all Class I, II, and III railroad personnel, suppliers, contractors, labor, shippers, as well as state and local government representatives, with an interest in furthering the political goals of the railroad industry. By joining with your fellow rail industry workers, you can help drive home to Congress the important role that this industry plays in restoring America’s economy, improving America’s environment, and connecting America in the global marketplace.
“I particularly enjoyed that the Railroad Day lobbyist teams were separated regionally – it allowed me the opportunity to speak to my elected officials about important industry issues and network with men and women who live and work in my area – some of whom I’d never had the opportunity to interact with before,” said LRIW Vice President Kaleigh Reyes in regards to Railroad Day 2014.
You can find out more details about Railroad Day including how to register and book your room on the ASLRRA website. Please book your room early as they usually sell out quickly. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Renaissance Washington DC Downtown. The group rate is $239 a night and the cut off date May 12, 2015.
