LRIW Now Accepting Nominations for Outstanding Woman of the Year

June 9, 2014. The League of Railway Industry Women (LRIW) is now accepting nominations for its 2014 Outstanding Woman of the Year award. For fifteen years, LRIW has been recognizing women who have made significant contributions to the rail industry through their leadership, dedication, and vision. The LRIW Outstanding Woman of the Year Award is co-sponsored by Progressive Railroading.

“We are excited to announce the 2014 Outstanding Woman of the Year nominations. There are many women making a positive impact on the rail industry and feel it’s important to honor them with this award,“ said Sally Boven, LRIW Woman of the Year Chair and CEO of Reflective Apparel Factory.

The 2014 award recipient will be honored at the LRIW Annual Conference, held in conjunction with RSI/CMA 2014 + Canadian Rail Summit, during the September 22 Opening/Plenary Session.  RSI/CMA 2014 + Canadian Rail Summit will be held September 21-23 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal (Montréal Convention Center).

The nomination form and more information about the award can be found on LRIW’s website at: http://lriw.org/woman-of-the-year/. A completed application and supporting documents are due July 31, 2014. Nominees must be women working within the rail industry.

Past winners include Norfolk Southern Corp.’s Deb Butler, International Decal Management Corp.’s Tracy DeLeon, the Federal Railroad Administration’s Jo Strang, Canadian Pacific’s Cathryn Frankenberg, Union Pacific Railroad’s Lupe Valdez and Farmrail Inc.’s Judy Petry.
